Ultimately, as a Filipino, the National Museum of Natural History is not only an exhibition of animals and landscapes, but these are symbols of our ancestors’ resilience, heritage, and social conscience.

The Philippines is home to many endemic species due to the amount of rich resources that are able to sustain them. However, many more endemic species like the Cloud rats are endangered, which reflects where our priorities stand. This is why understanding the natural history and biodiversity of the Philippines is crucial, because it's through exposing ourselves to these topics that we are able to see how unique yet underappreciated they are. This inspires contemporary Filipino artists in the regions to shed light on these species and show the mass public the importance of preserving the Philippines' biodiversity.
